Brog is a modern interpretation of a neo-style (Scottish) serif typeface designed for universal use. It stands out with its wide serifs (that remind brogue shoes that originate from Scotland) and closed apertures, giving it a distinctive character, as well as its reduced contrast, which enhances readability. Drawing from the rich cultural symbolism of Scotland, it was chosen to depict Scottish Fold cats in kilts, embodying both elegance and ruggedness. These characters are paired with classic Scottish elements like bagpipes and traditional hats, blending Scottish pride with a touch of playful surrealism, all tied together by the iconic checkered patterns of the country’s heritage.
