Qwien – Center for Queer Culture and History

Starting Point
The Center for Queer Culture and History in Vienna has moved into a converted print works, bringing archive, library, exhibitions, and events together under one roof. The new Qwien is a space for community, research, and dialogue—at a time when queer stories must be protected and shared amid renewed societal backlash.

Creative Strategy
Research into historic materials—from early queer zines around 1900 to Vivienne Westwood’s 1997 Life Ball invite—led to one core idea: OUR VOICE. OUR SPACE. OUR STORY. We defined a clear positioning and structured the center’s focus across culture, collection, research, and education.

Design with Purpose
The visual identity translates this spirit into bold typography and Qwien Pink & Ink. A customized TT Trailers anchors a flexible system across signage and communication—creating a confident, visible brand that honors queer history while carrying it forward.
